You could benefit from a Bodycheck if:- You want to learn how to improve your posture and protect your joints at the same time.
- You are about to start an exercise regime and want to check that your joints will not be put under strain.
CHECK:- Is your posture putting your joints under strain?
- Do your shoulders gradually hunch up or ache?
- Does your neck/ back ache/stiffen after sitting?
- Do you suffer from frequent stress related headaches?
- Do you find it difficult to push your shoulders down and back without arching your lower back?
The Bodycheck is a 30 minute appointment in which the alignment of your spine and the strength and flexibility of your major muscle groups are assessed.
At the end of the assessment you will know what is working well and what is not. Our findings will be explained to you along with what can be done about any problem areas.
Subtle changes in posture over a few years can result in joints being put under excessive strain. When a joint is incorrectly aligned the muscles that normally protect the joints are compromised in their performance and as a result they weaken.
Weak muscles perform poorly. Other muscles may be recruited as a substitute but their performance will be less than that of the muscle designed for the task. Additionally the joints will have less protection and you will be more vulnerable to injury.
We aim to help you to avoid injury and unecessary future aches and pains. We do this by providing you with practical information that will improve the quality of the way that you move and hold yourself. We also provide individual exercise programmes that are tailored to your particular strengths and weaknesses. |
